Christina has been the General Manager at the Chamber since 2009. She started her career in advertising and media relations, working first in London before moving to Lisbon, where she spent 10 years living and working in advertising and media related businesses. Having built a successful book and contract magazine publishing business in Portugal, with offices in Lisbon and the Algarve, in 1996 she sold the business and returned to London. She then continued her career in magazine and book publishing, working in senior roles at Archant Specialist Media, Virgin Books, and Bath-based publishers Merricks Media. She became a director of the Chamber in 2006. Christina runs the Moving to Portugal seminars and introduces the speakers.

Gavin has been advising expatriates on their tax and wealth management for more than 20 years and has represented Blevins Franks in the Algarve since 2000. Previously, he was a founding partner of an independent firm of financial consultants in the Sultanate of Brunei, advising expatriates and high net-worth clients on all aspects of financial planning. This included the use of offshore trusts for prudent tax and investment management. Gavin holds the Diploma for Financial Advisers and full UK Financial Planning Certificate. He is a Member of the Personal Finance Society by Certificate. He has also attended offshore trust and investment courses in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Sydney.

Alan Murray is a tax partner in Mazars, who has over 15 years’ experience dealing with high-level Private Client tax issues. His areas of expertise are residence planning issues, dealing with non-Irish domiciled clients and Irish tax resident beneficiaries of non-Irish based trusts. Alan has significant experience in dealing with capital gains tax planning and for high-level inheritance and gift tax planning. He has written on various Private Client topics for industry-specific publications and the national media and has given lectures to business organisations on tax matters as they pertain to Private Clients.
Alan leads the Mazars' entertainment practice that acts as trusted business advisers to global international high-profile entertainers, indigenous performers based in the Irish market and overseas, TV personalities, comedians and actors.

Geoffrey is a dual British and Irish national. After studying law at Birmingham and York and starting his legal career in Belfast and the City, he moved to Portugal. He has been living and working in Lisbon for 18 years and is registered as an English solicitor with the Portuguese Law Society. He specialises in advising UK residents on their Portuguese investments, including their tax and real estate matters. In order to deal with the high demand for advice on the very favourable tax regime in Portugal (the Non Habitual Tax Residence or NHR Programme) he has formed an experienced bilingual team who provide the full range of advice for NHR applicants, from the preliminary advice to advice on the filing of the first NHR tax return and all of the tax, property and ancillary advice required in between.

Prior to joining Nomad, Alexandre was a Founding Partner of Optylon Capital, a Portugal based leading Real Estate Investment and Promotion company. Alexandre was also a Financial Professional at AXA US, and Managing Partner at French Desk Capital Management in New York City… Prior to that, Alexandre was a buy side Analyst focused on Emerging Markets Equities at Global Emerging Markets Group in New York. He also worked as an Associate at Magna Group Capital Management, focusing on US equities in the biotech, mining, and oil & gas industries. Before moving to Portugal, Alexandre was based in the United States, India, China and Romania, working on various projects.

Alexandre holds a MBA Degree in International Business from the Baruch College in New York, as well as a Master’s degree in Management & Entrepreneurship from the Superior Institute of Management of Paris. He also completed exchange programs in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing. He speaks English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and basic Japanese.
