Our Moving to Portugal Shows and Seminars also take place outside London in selected locations, among them Birmingham, Manchester and Dublin.
On Thursday 14th November 2019, The Portuguese Chamber brought a dedicated Moving to Portugal Show & Seminars to central Manchester. This event ran from 11am to 9pm at the Manchester Central venue.
The seminars followed the same pattern as the London shows with specialist companies presenting on the key topics.
The content of the Manchester seminars focussed on the practical aspects that British buyers need to consider ahead of a move to Portugal, and alongside the seminars some carefully chosen members of the Chamber were exhibiting throughout the day on their stands to answer questions and to talk in private with attendees.
Exhibitors included estate agents from all regions of Portugal so visitors could see the different property options available, and representatives from some of Portugal’s best established resorts and golf courses, as shown below:

Within each seminar there were several short (15 minute) presentations from specialists on the following subjects:
- The legal aspects of buying a property in Portugal
How to plan your legal and financial affairs in advance of the move - How to structure mortgage finance and pensions
- How Portugal’s Non Habitual Residence (NHR) tax programme works
- Aspects of healthcare, residency and later living in Portugal
- Come along and meet us all, try some Portuguese wine, and plan your move towards a sunnier lifestyle!
The seminars were free to attend but due to their popularity it was necessary to reserve a place in advance.
