Visitors to the Moving to Portugal Show and Seminars now seeking new kinds of information, and 80% of visitors have never attended a show before.
Last Thursday (20th of October), the Moving to Portugal Show and Seminars, organised by the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in the UK, returned to central London at the Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel.
As the UK’s only events dedicated to matching Portuguese lifestyle brands and property agents and developers with British movers who want their services, the event provided a one-stop-shop for visitors seeking information from exhibitors and the event’s detailed seminar programme.
The Moving To Portugal events started in the UK in 2016, and over 7,500 UK-based visitors have now attended at least one live event.
The Portuguese Chamber’s analysis of its recent visitor registration data highlights that British buyers are keener than ever to move, with 33.6% of last week’s registrants planning to move to Portugal within the year.
Moreover, thanks to the Chamber’s new year-round social media campaign, which uses targeted digital and press actions, the Moving to Portugal database is now continually attracting new registrations, with 80.20% of recent visitors to the live show having never attended an event before.
Portugal’s diversified offer and connectivity inside Europe is a crucial driver for the British buyer.
Research among visitors at the show indicated that in 2022, moving to the Lisbon area has become the most desired option for Moving To Portugal registrants, (followed by the Algarve) as new arrivals want to learn more about working remotely and opening a business in Portugal.
This new trend is driven by young families and remote workers who, along with active seniors, value Portugal’s healthy quality of life and feel they may achieve it in the Lisbon area.
Over 20 exhibitors took part in last week’s Moving to Portugal event, among them Globecrest Property, Global Citizen Solutions, Garvetur, Nomad Bay, Vic Properties, PwC Portugal, Eversheds Sutherland FCB, Blevins Franks, Fine and Country Algarve, Edge International, Santander Totta and Globeducate.
Alongside the exhibitors, the seminar programme was designed to ensure attendees could learn from experts about residency, visas, tax, mortgages, pensions and properties for sale around Portugal.
To connect Chamber members with potential clients from the growing Moving to Portugal database (which now numbers over 4,000 active leads) the Chamber will begin a new Moving to Portugal webinar series in January 2023. These will be in addition to its next live Shows and Seminars, which will take place in March and October 2023 in central London.
